3D Printer Add-On to CNC Table
I called Keling Inc, told them I wanted a KL-11078, that way all my driver would be the same and interchangeable. I then learn theystop making the KL-11078, but the KL-11080 was it's replacement. So I ordered a KL-11080, but the strange thing is the newer driver is not like the older driver. The KL-11080 is a completely different size, different cooling fan location and air flow, and the best part we discovered after we burned up a brand new stepper motor: "Switch: On=0 Off=1" Seriously? Who the hell would be that stupid? 1=Off?
It gets better! After hooking up a new stepper motor, it ran forward, but when we told it to run backwards, it still ran forward. Never saw that one before so we start messing with the wiring. No luck! Try it on a different micro step setting, faster, but still only in one direction. So what about this Switch 6 that is labeled "SW6: is empty" HOLY SHIT! Its working now. Really? The driver labels switch 5 as controlling "Half Current" but the documentation says that's actually switch 6. What is Half Current? God only knows, because the labels and the documentation are not to be trusted. Newer: Keling KL-11080 Specification KL11080 Manual
