If there is one thing I need in order to dream big, it's a partner and friend that shares that dream.
August 2012 Rebuilding and converting a 1950's - 60's winch off a "White" winch truck for use as an anchor and utility winch. Also a little on sand basting with water or hydro-blasting with sand. Epoxy paint for flash rust. And cutting circles.
MIG Brazing is a great option of the shop without an oxygen-acetylene torch. And MIG Brazing is great for cladding iron and steel too. We also got schooled by Kieth, a Mooring Master for a tanker, in how to configure and use a ship winch like the big boys do.
After a couple of bad design paths we got a band brake that acts like it will do the job.
Marking 1 Year of actual construction.
